All About Skate Camp

Skate Camp is the adult summer camp you never knew you needed! Skate Camp is for skaters 18+ who feel a WFTDA-affiliated league is the right place for them. We are open to all skill levels and all ages over 18! Yes, YOU CAN SKATE!

Skate Camp starts on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 7:00pm. Available practices run for 2 hours and will generally be Tuesday evenings (7pm), Friday evenings (7pm), and Sunday afternoons (4pm). All practices take place at the outdoor rink at the Laguna Hills Community Center. Every practice is totally optional, and so the time commitment is whatever you choose to make it.

All skaters will need quad skates, a helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads, knee pads, and a mouthguard before hitting the track. There is also a fee associated with the Skate Camp experience. Want to learn more? Join our information sessions coming up soon! We have a Zoom information session scheduled for April 22 at 11AM. Please email scrdpr@gmail.com for more information or to get the Zoom link!

Once individuals either finish the Skate Camp or can show us they are safe on their skates and with some light contact, then we invite them to join the full-contact portions of practices and join as a full-time South Coast Roller Derby league member.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions!
